PIS (Public Information System), is a system of text messages about bus arrival times for the routes relevant to the stations.
The system includes real-time arrival data, and important messages from the route operator, the local authority and the state. These days, in order to inform the public in changes to a route or a station during an event, the traffic management room extracts the stations from the MOT “Mashlat” system using a spatial polygon, and feeds the information into the information system (“Moran”) in a text file.
When there is an event, no tool shows all the stations affected by the change, and locating the information takes a long time.
Our company has developed an advanced tool (ESI-Exact System Information), which pulls data from the output of the “Mashlat” system, and on the basis of these stations analyzes all the affected stations further down the line.
The project was carried out in collaboration with the Jerusalem Transportation Master Plan Team
