Public Transportation Electricty Plan

The plan to electrify public transportation is a multi-year move to change bus technology in Israel that aims to bring environmental, operational and service benefits.

As part of the project for Ayalon Highways we performed an analysis that included the collection of data on the existing and future routes network in the area, locations of public transportation terminals, actual duration times of the network routes and more.

Using optimization software, we planned and designed a complete operational plan for the area to obtain the buses requirements, scope of service and hours of operation. In addition, we built an advanced tool through which we analyzed the electricity consumption of each bus according to its working plan, identified the locations of breaks that allow electric charging and analyzed the required amounts of chargers, the maximum electricity consumption in each parking lot, the types of technology recommended, etc.

The plan was carried out for the following areas: Netanya, Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Bat Yam, Holon, Rishon Lezion and the Sharon area
