Methodology For Examining Drivers Demands In Israel Public Transportation

The shortage of drivers is a huge and increasing problem in the field of public transport operations in the world in general and in Israel in particular. As part of an attempt to solve the problem, the MOT and Ayalon Highways asked to examine the real need of drivers to operate the public transport service in Israel and the actual supply of drivers.

Through our extensive experience in operating public transport, we built a comprehensive examination process of the actual need of drivers while considering the professional, industrial and technological variables that affect the drivers. We detailed the reasons for the shortage, the factors that affect the supply of drivers and gave recommendations on how to improve the supply of drivers in the coming years.

The process included, among other things, different simulations of the demand and supply of drivers in different areas of the country, building the profile of drivers in different areas and reviewing other indicators that affect the operation and supply of drivers.
